Itinerary (subject to change based on weather and vendors):

June 20: Arrive in Heraklion Intl Airport in Crete anytime today. We will provide transportation for you from the airport to our first hotel in the Heraklion area. You can arrive as early as you want and wander and self-explore until our first group sunset dinner.

June 21: A delicious Greek breakfast, followed by a morning ATV tour overlooking the northern coast of Crete. This will be fully geared and guided, even offering us the opportunity to stop for olive oil tasting! We will pick up our luggage from our hotel, then drive to Old Town Chania. From here, we will have a bit of free time to rest, or wander and explore the charming old town. Dinner as a group at sunset will conclude this day.

June 22: The theme of today is one of my favorites: EATING! We will have a light breakfast, then head off to a Traditional Cretan cooking class at a quiet venue outside the city. We will be refreshed with Greek coffee, then learn to cook dishes such as stuffed grape leaves, tzatziki, and more. Once we are sufficiently stuffed, we will head back to our hotel to relax for a bit and change into swimsuits before heading out on a paddleboarding tour over crystal-clear water. We will conclude today with a group dinner.

June 23: Did you know Crete has gorgeous mountains and even slot canyons? Today we will go on a day trip to the south side of the island where we will hike the Imbros Gorge Trail - an easy/moderate 5 mile trail with stunning views and plenty of shade. We will be there at the end of peak wildflower season! We will bring our refillable water bottles and drink the fresh spring water available from little fountains in the Gorge. After the hike, we will unwind in a small, unspoilt, and colorful fishing village. We can swim in the Libyan Sea (a different area of the Mediterranean than we will be in for the rest of our trip). We will end this special day with a sunset dinner.

June 24:
Today we will enjoy breakfast before getting picked up for a daytrip to the southeast edge of the island to visit the iconic Elafonisi Beach. We will ride in an air-conditioned vehicles out to this pink-sand beach with clear, shallow water. We will stop to visit Agia Sofia cave on the way, and we may even make a pit stop in a small local village if time allows. We will have several hours to enjoy the beach, followed by a late lunch on the way back. Tonight we will dine at a charming Old Town restaurant for our final evening in Crete.

June 25: This morning we will have a hotel breakfast, then off to the airport to fly from Crete to Milos. Although this is a more expensive mode of transport on the operational end of things, flying will be much more scenic and enjoyable than the ferry! Upon arrival, we will have lunch overlooking the ocean. The rest of the afternoon is up to you: relax at the hotel, explore on your own, shop, or join me on Sarakaniko Lunar Beach: the iconic ‘beach’ featuring limestone that looks like the surface of the moon, where we can jump off into crystal clear water, or lay on towels to read, or just enjoy the views. We will reconvene as a group for dinner to discuss what we got up to during the afternoon!

June 26: First things first today: an early morning stop at a bakery. From here, we are doing a full-day catamaran trip, sailing around the island and to Kleftiko caves. We will have the opportunity to swim, snorkel, sunbathe, read, nap, and possibly even cliff jump! We will be with a highly-rated crew and eat some delicious food on the water. Tonight, we will wrap up the trip with a beautiful farewell dinner.

June 27:
We will enjoy a final group breakfast, and then the trip is officially over. For those flying home today, Culture + Compass will provide you with a ride to the Milos airport. If you desire to stay on Milos longer at your own expense or go to the ferry dock to venture off to another island, you are welcome to do so!

Note: All rooms are shared occupancy with separate beds. A single room is available at most accommodations for a supplemental fee of $1,000.
